This finely made set of sterling silver serving pieces is intended for dessert and are smaller than serving pieces made for meat or vegetables. They were made in France during the Art Nouveau period (circa 1900/1910) and are crafted from French Silver with a standard of 950/000 or 95% (actually 2.5% finer than Sterling Silver).

Each is decorated with gorgeous flora and fauna in the forms of vines that swirl around the handles. There is a little space for an engraved initial if you have your heart set on personalization.

The set consists of the following from left to right in the box (2nd image).

Dessert Knife: For slicing soft desserts.

Perforated Spoon: To serve desserts with liquids (berries, citrus).

Perforated Pie Server: To serve petite pastries, tarts or macarons.

Dessert Fork: With three tines, for picking up small desserts or fruits.

How would we use it? The set is perfect for petite sweets that you might serve with tea, dessert, or brunch. It comes in its original box with a gilt-tooled design of scallop shells, lined in a cream velvet and silk.

Condition

They are in good antique condition. There is wear, surface scratches, and minor imperfections that you would expect to see in a piece of this age. The outside of the box is also relatively good condition for its age with some spots of wear. The inside of the box has age spots (see image).
