Antique & Modern: Onyx Cameo Drop Earrings In A Rose Gold Surround - The "Greek Warriors"

A pair of Victorian onyx cameos (also called hardstone cameos) of two Greek Warriors ready to do battle. They face each other instead of back to back, which true cameo lovers tend to prefer. Originally a pair of cufflinks, the attachments were removed and rose gold ear wires, hand made and custom designed for this piece, were added without disturbing the cameos or their original rose gold frames.

We love their many unique features, a more modern rectangular shape, unique hand carving (each one is slightly different) and the contrasting colors of black and white against rose gold. A versatile pair of earrings that would mix well with either a little black Tee or a little black dress.

• The cameos are approximately 1/2 inch by 3/4 in length. The rose gold drop adds another 1/4 inch to the length, for a total of 1 inch in length.
• The cameos are carved from of onyx and in a surround of 9ct rose gold. Originally cufflinks, we have added 10ct rose gold ear wire, custom made by hand for this pair of earrings.

• Thought to be English.

• Late 19th c./early 20th c.

• The earrings are in very good antique condition.
