Originally a shoe buckle, this Georgian paste buckle in silver has been refitted by us with white gold. The Georgians treated their buckles like jewelry and were often kept in their own fitted cases. Paste took great skill to cut, and just like the diamonds of the period, they were meant to sparkle and glow in candlelight.
The pastes are hand cut originals that have retained much of their sparkle and brightness despite their age. The cut of the pastes and the inner rim of rose gold colored metal all contribute to make this a truly original piece that can be worn pinned to your wedding dress in a variety of ways. We have it pinned to white silk.
