The sparkling old cut diamonds, and the bright pink-red ruby are each set within a carved star. These rings are also known as "Gypsy" or "Gypsy Set" for the style of the stone setting, deep enough to accommodate gems that are set into the ring and flush set with the surface. Technically speaking, the stones have tiny prongs and are really prong set, but they are often referred to as gypsy set.
